Sewing Case

I finished the house sewing case. The house piece is about 6 inches long and it was just simple to put them all together, just a little bit of time consuming. I used wool pieces for the flap of the pincushion as well as a spool applique.

I referred this design from Japanese quilt book by Yoko Saito. I like her taste of fabric choice and quilt technique. I have been into more American quilters lately, but I realize that some Japanese professional quilters as well as designers are so talented and have very unique taste of design and originarity. Only thing I am not into for now is "taupe" colors, maybe someday...

This house case is adorable. Maybe good that you don't like taupe, it's addicting once you start to collect it! Love your creation. Thanks for the detailed pictures.

What a cute sewing case - I love it! I think it's fine you aren't into taupes. So many Japanese quilers are. For a long time I couldn't figure out how Japanese quilters took our traditional block patterns and made a distinctive Japanese quilt. I mentoned that to someone once and they said it was because of all the taupes they used. She was right! So buck the trend - stay with your love of the primitives, etc. - everything you do is marvelous!
