Spools in the Frame

The blocks in this picture look kind of big pieces, but it is actually about 10 inches square blocks. I wanted to make a quilt about the tools and notions that I use. Spools, sewing machine, needle, thimbles, and etc. Then the spool block rang the bell in my head and Ta Dah~!! this is another scrap quilt I'm pleased to have made.

Well, this might be an additional goody in the anniversary giveaway, of course depending on how fast I can finish quilting it... (lol)

I recently bought these books at a local discount book store. I quit buying quilt books for a while and thought about this store for bargain the other day and found these treasures!!! I've read some quilters in the blog land saying that she would start making one block a day or something from this Cheri's book. I think I will follow her soon, but I think I will make one block a month like BOM. This book has a lot of cute and adorable Christmas patterns and I might use some of them other than Christmas also. The other book "Hooked on Wool" also has nice inspirations in it. Very familiar designers patterns and easy instructions to follow.
I will dump most of wools in the washing machine and start working on one of nice wool quilts from that book, too.

I can tell you treasure hunting is such a fun thing to do!!

Happy quilting!!

Thanks for visiting me over at Nickers and Neighs. I find your blog inspiring, as a matter of fact, after reading your post tonight you gave me an excellent idea on placing a stripped border around each block. Thanks, I'll post pictures on my blog for all to see. I'm proud of what I've created so far, and enjoy all these wonderful quilters blogs.
